Mrs. Krissy Manalo – Montessori Directress & Head of School
Mrs. Manalo has had over 18 years of experience working with children including those in Montessori schools located in Manila and Vancouver. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Education at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. She then received her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Primary Diploma at the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia, where she continues to volunteer her free time when her schedule permits.
Mrs. Manalo is also a certified children’s yoga teacher and adult yoga instructor. She enjoys the performing arts – most especially singing, dancing, and playing the ukelele. She often incorporates her musical selections, love for the arts and literature, and other wide interests into her Montessori environment. She also sings with her church choir every Sunday.
She is happily married and is blessed to be a mother of three lovely children whose unique ways of looking at the world continuously inspire her as she goes about her work as an educator.

Mrs. Randi Slobin – Assistant Montessori Directress
Mrs. Slobin joined the teaching staff at Morgan Creek Montessori in September 2021. She was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She lived in Ottawa (ON), Israel, and Orlando (Florida, USA) before moving to Vancouver (BC). She attended the University of Ottawa where she studied Communications. She took the Montessori Primary Training at the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia (MTCBC) in 1998. She has over 16 years of Montessori teaching experience with preschool and elementary-aged children. She is a proud mother of two wonderful children - Justin (13) and Olivia (12) and both have attended Montessori schools in their younger years.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling, walking, running, going to the theatres, art, and reading.

Ms. Marisa Mastropieri – Montessori Assistant
Ms. Mastropieri joined the Morgan Creek Teaching Staff in 2022. She graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. While in university, she played on the UBC Women’s Soccer Team from 2015-2020. Over the last two years, Ms. Mastropieri continued her studies focusing on education. She completed her certificates in Early Years Education and Infant Development & Supported Child Development at UBC, and the AMI Montessori Assistant’s Certificate under Sandra Girlato with the Foundation for Montessori Education (FME). During her free time, she loves to travel, enjoy the outdoors, spend time with her dogs Max and Millie, and play soccer.
Mrs. Edwina Invento – Montessori Assistant
Mrs. Edwina Invento is part of the Morgan Creek Montessori staff. She was an accountant and an auditing professional for more than 25 years before retiring. She completed the AMI Montessori Assistant’s course at the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia in 2018 and has been a familiar face in MCM since then. She enjoys cooking, travelling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
