Mrs. Krissy Manalo – Montessori Directress & Head of School
Prior to taking on the mantle as head of school and owner at Morgan Creek Montessori, Mrs. Manalo has had over 15 years of experience working with children including those in Montessori schools located in Manila and Vancouver. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Education at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. She then received her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Primary Diploma at the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia, where she continues to volunteer her free time when her schedule permits.
Mrs. Manalo is also a certified children’s yoga teacher and adult yoga instructor. She enjoys the performing arts – most especially singing, dancing, and playing the ukelele. She often incorporates her musical selections, love for the arts and literature, and other wide interests into her Montessori environment.
She is happily married and is blessed to be a mother of three lovely children whose unique ways of looking at the world continuously inspire her as she goes about her work as an educator.
"I am very honored and humbled to be heading the school. I look forward to continue the good work that has been established, to integrate my own unique experiences into the environment, and to work well with the children in the hopes that they reach their fullest potential during their crucial developmental years."
Mrs. Miriam Oravec – Assistant Montessori Directress
Mrs. Oravec has come to believe that a Montessori education is one of the best means of teaching a peaceful way of life. Along with serving as a guide to the child as he learns about this world, so too do we find a way to present the world to the child.
Mrs. Oravec has worked with children since 1989. Her first decade of teaching was dedicated to children of preschool and kindergarten age in Slovakia, after which she received her AMI Primary Diploma at the Montessori Training Center of British Columbia. Mrs. Oravec has, since then, channeled her passion and newfound knowledge of Maria Montessori's ideals for guiding children into her daily encounters with them.
"My Montessori education has given me a fuller understanding of the child's mind and my role in the life of every child I encounter."
Mrs. Carrie Schepens – Consultant

Mrs. Schepens also has her Bachelors of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Calgary. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dogs, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
As a former owner of the school, Mrs. Schepens continues to be an important resource for the school community in her new capacity as its Consultant.
